I have a love hate relationship with cardio. Endurance is boring and tiring. I’m waiting to see whether I formally have POTS but I definitely have orthostatic intolerance which means training cardio is just hard and I have to pace myself back. In Wednesday, I finally found the emotional motivation and physical to give it a try. After my SI joint came out a few weeks ago, it’s been a struggle to get back into training and rehab mode. Walking anywhere was a challenge so training was sort of impossible. But I’m also getting ready for a new project and that’s exciting me. It’s different to anything I’ve done on the wall so far and I don’t even know if my body will let me. So this marks my return to training and my first cross training session in possibly 8 years where I wasn’t dizzy within a few minutes. In fact, I managed to reach my target time!. Considering walking a few minutes without crutches was impossible 3 weeks ago, I’m taking this win. It’s hard work, but I’m taking it.
How do you stay motivated in cardio? At the moment I’m watching NCIS but also have podcasts and audiobooks to listen to.
